One of the reasons why I started freelancing, both online and offline, is because I wanted to pay myself first.
For me, paying myself first means setting aside a portion of my earnings for savings and investments.
As Jotform Official Partner, I would like to introduce to you - Jotform AI Agents.
Jotform AI Agents are powerful automated customer service tools that provide real-time assistance, answer user queries, and guide customers through processes like form-filling and troubleshooting.
By offering personalized, conversational AI interactions and 24-7 availability, they enhance customer satisfaction, streamline support workflows, and reduce response times, ensuring a seamless and efficient customer experience.
Here’s what I did.
First, I allocated a percentage of my earnings from both my salary and freelancing for savings and investments.
I made sure this was separated from my other budgets, like bills, work allowance, and daily expenses.
Second, I controlled my spending. And I mean really controlled it.
I am the type of person who loves food.
Ice cream, junk food, Starbucks frappuccino. But because I wanted to pay myself first, I limited how often I bought those things.
I exercised, balanced my spending, and became more mindful of my choices when it came to my favorite treats.

The part that no one talks about
Honestly, there is a lot of advice online about managing money, growing income, and scaling a career.
But here is what I think is often missed.
The messy truth.
The uncomfortable process.
The part where you have to sacrifice things you like or love.
The control part, or what I would call self-discipline.
When it comes to money, people tend to forget what they are really aiming for and focus instead on the energy of “I deserve this.”
Paying yourself first is the very first stage of working, freelancing, or building a business. When you do this, you are already thanking yourself for the future.
Turns freelancing chaos into a clear weekly system so you know what to do, get paid on time, and stop overthinking.
Post to you soon 📩
