Big or small income, it will all be gone if you do not manage it properly.
If you have been reading my newsletters for a while, you probably noticed that I am strict when it comes to handling money.
That is not by accident.
For me, income size does not matter as much as people think. You can earn a lot, but if you cannot manage it properly, within a week, or even less, all of it can disappear.
I learned this the hard way.
There was a time when I earned my biggest commission from my offline freelancing work as a health agent. It was during the pandemic. The money came in fast, and it was more than what I was used to earning.
For a moment, it felt like relief.
Then something small started happening.
I began ordering food online. A lot. Any type of food. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks. Convenience food. Comfort food. Food for no real reason.
I did not realize that in just five days, almost 50 percent of that commission was already gone. Not on investments. Not on savings. Just food deliveries.
That was the moment I lost to myself.
I told myself, no more food ordering online.
I gave in to my cravings because I had money. I listened to my stomach instead of my brain. That was almost one of my biggest mistakes. I nearly emptied my pockets just to satisfy short-term cravings.
That experience taught me something uncomfortable.
Even small habits can make you miserable if you lack money discipline and self-discipline.
It is not always the big expenses that ruin you. Sometimes it is the repeated small ones you justify because you feel comfortable.
For You:
That is why money discipline matters more than income size.
❌ A high income without discipline creates false security.
✅ A smaller income with discipline creates stability.
Freelancing income is unpredictable.
Some months are good. Some are slow. That is normal. What causes problems is when your spending grows faster than your control.
Money discipline means deciding where your money goes before it arrives. It means not letting emotions, cravings, or excitement take control just because you earned more than usual.
It is not about depriving yourself. It is about protecting your future self.
Income can increase. Income can disappear.
Discipline is what stays.
And that is why it matters more than how much you earn.
